Nobody Messes With Jerry's World

So you know when Patrick Swayze is all "nobody puts Baby in the corner" at the end of Dirty Dancing? Well, in this case Baby=Jerry Jones and the corner=anything he doesn't want to do.

It is Super Bowl week here in Dallas and let's just say it has been a hellish week. The temps have been below 18 most of the week with windchills in the - digits. It's not fun. The upside has been having a lovely paid vacation from work because all the schools are closed. Anyway on Wednesday the power companies all over TX decided that it's time to begin rolling blackouts of power because too much power has been used in the state. Mind you it is currently 13 degrees in TX and in South TX around 20 and they think this is the best time to have no power. Hospitals, houses, traffic lights, schools, stores all without power randomly throughout the day but ANYTHING related to the Super Bowl is not experiencing blackouts! Why you ask? Because Jerry Jones rules the world.

This would be Jerry's World!

A NY Times writer said the following about Arlington and it's surrounding cities
"Yeah, the Steelers are in Fort Worth, the Packers are in Irving and the game will be in Arlington. The only things in Dallas are the NFL headquarters and 1,374 Tex-Mex restaurants." While a bit sassy it was kind of hilarious and true. I've been saying forever that stadium should not have been placed in Arlington because Arlington is not equip to handle a Super Bowl. It is a suburb, a big suburb, but still a suburb. That is why all the partying and fun is actually happening in Dallas.

Anyway, the two teams have been here since Sunday/Monday with Packers staying in Dallas and practicing at Highland Park High School's indoor stadium (was supposed to be SMU but the weather ruined it). They're staying at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas. The Steelers are staying in Fort Worth at the Omni there and practicing at TCU. The celebrities began pouring in on Thursday and that's when the parties began as well.

Downtown FTW where ESPN is set up.

Media Day at the stadium 01/31/11

Here is a list of all the Parties going on Thursday-Sunday but the covers are outrageous! It's laughable actually. I mean celebrities charging 500-1000 just to get into their parties. I don't care about anyone that much sorry. I did however submit some pictures to Maxim to try and get into their party. Nothing special, I didn't create a photo shoot or anything, but just some random club pictures I had. Turns out that was good enough because I got an invite! I'm not sure how it works. I mean I'm on the list and it's at Fair Park in Dallas so that's a huge place but I'm sure if it gets too crowded I won't get in. I'm planning to go early though and I'm excited!

Here is the info about the party!

And here are some pics from previous years parties!

Anyway the weather isn't great, I blame Green Bay, but it shan't stop the party! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend! Hopefully I will have some pictures from the Super Bowl parties this weekend!
