To the Other 49 States, TX No Longer Cares About Your Super Bowl Complaints!

Now that all the Super Bowl hoopla has ended and I'm over my celebrity high from The Maxim Party I have decided to do a post about my thoughts on having the game in my city. Let me start by saying, I was not a fan of putting that stadium in Arlington TX. Cowboys stadium needs to be in the Irving/Dallas area. That's where it belongs but alas, sometimes, that's just how baseball go(Texas Rangers reference :) ). Arlington is NOT Dallas, that doesn't mean it's not awesome (it's my hometown), it's just not Dallas.

Please see below

As you see from the map above Arlington is it's own little city and it's not exactly a thriving metropolis! One of the major complaints I heard during the weekend was from all the people complaining about the drive to and from Fort Worth (where ESPN and the Steelers were) and Dallas (where most parties and the Packers were). Here's the thing, if you have any brains at all wouldn't you research the city hosting the Super Bowl and the surrounding areas? Furthermore if you have the money to GO TO A SUPER BOWL can you not get a taxi or a car service to drive you to and from places? I mean it's not the city of Arlington's fault that you didn't plan accordingly, which brings me to, the weather.

For TX standards we had a freaking blizzard! I mean we had at least 4-6 inches of snow and 3 days of sleet, ice, and below freezing temps. So of course the DFW was pretty much shut down. Apparently all the Packers people were laughing at us for doing so but really it MAKES SENSE. We are not up north, we do not get weather like that, we DO NOT HAVE SALT TRUCKS TO FIX THE ROAD, so yes, we shut down! I don't care if they go to school and work in Chicago or NY with a couple feet of snow on the ground because they have the necessary things to HANDLE THAT. They also have experience driving in that. Texas does not. So yes, things were shut down and the weather sucked. Again, how is that Arlington's fault? Furthermore, all those people saying we shouldn't have cared about snow and ice will be the first ones saying they're dying of heat stroke when the temp here hits 85. Come talk to me during a TX summer when you long for the days when the temp is ONLY 100!

Christina Aguilera messed up the national anthem. Yeah, that sucks. Perhaps she was nervous. Perhaps she was hungover from partying all weekend (that's what I'm hearing). Again, how is this the fault of the city or the Super Bowl, for that matter? Let's go ahead and blame her publicist or perhaps Christina herself! Girl, if you're gonna sing the national anthem please make sure you know the words. Actually, if you're over the age 12 you need to know the words to the national anthem. Sorry a bad performance doesn't reflect at all on the host city, which brings us to the half time show.

In all fairness I didn't watch this performance but from my twitter feed it was awful! Apparently the sound within the stadium was bad and I guess that could be Jerry's fault but I mean I can't recall sound ever sounding great in stadiums. The fact that apparently they all sounded like crap has nothing to do with the city though. I mean BEP isn't really known for awesome vocals. I think Fergie is lovely but her voice isn't THAT great. Let's just be real about the situation people. Anyway if you want to be mad about wack half time shows go call Justin and Janet. It's all their fault anyway! They've ruined it for every future show.

This brings us to the biggest problem of the weekend. The seating issue. OK, so Jerry Jones was trying to get some kind of record and built all these extra seats that were not up to snuff. They decided this on the day of the Super Bowl. Yeah that sucks. I mean it REALLY sucks but what can you do. Oh, I know. How about you relocate people to better seats, give them triple face value of the ticket, let them on the field after the Super Bowl during the trophy presentation to meet players and fans, THEN GIVE THEM FREE TICKETS TO NEXT YEAR'S SUPER BOWL!?!? I mean really people, yes it does suck but in the end what more do you want? You have been more than compensated in my opinion and now it's time to STFU.

In the end, us people in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, and other surrounding areas understand that Jerry Jones is wack. I mean hello, it's Jerry's world and were just living in it. That being said, we live here, we've dealt with it forever and we've earned the right to complain. It's like this, we can complain about the city, we can complain about the stadium, and we can complain about the Cowboys THIS IS OUR TOWN. So for all the people saying Dallas will never get a Super Bowl, who cares! We don't need another Super Bowl, I'm not even sure we want another Super Bowl but in the end I bet we get one. Either way, we are Texans, so we still win!
