20 Qualities A Man Should Have to Date Brittany (circa 2008)

So my friend Paul sent me an email of a document I emailed him in 2008 about the top qualities I needed in a man! The amusing thing is everyone I've dated since then has had almost none of these. Ha! After reading it over I've decided it's time to go back to this list! I used to have a list of 100 qualities back in the day but decided that was too intense. Perhaps this is why I'm single. Oh wells! Here's the list.

20 Qualities a Man must have to date Brittany
1. At LEAST 6’1 – I must be able to wear the occasional 4 inch heel and still not be taller than him!
2. Honest- no time for liars!
3. Adores Me- this is more of the boy needs to understand how incredibly lucky he is to have an awesome person like me in his life, and should do things every day to show me he knows this!
4. Has a Career/Education- These are interchangeable considering sometimes you can have a wonderful career without an education but either way. He either must be college educated with a goal for a wonderful career or has a wonderful career. Preferably high paying
5. Personality- A MUST! No time for losers who are wack. Must have a great personality
6. Funny- its always great when a guy makes you laugh
7. Intelligent- knows what he’s talking about, knows current events, in general can argue with someone without sounding like an idiot
8. Not too emotional- I don’t like feelings. They annoy me. But this must not interfere with number 3!
9. Doesn’t Smoke or Do drugs- NO exceptions ever
10. Has goals in life!- not a bum and not content to do nothing
11. Understands I am sassy and does not spend all day whining about it. Accepts it and moves on. In fact grows to love the sass! Never sasses me!
12. Attractive- not necessarily David Beckham even though that couldn’t hurt! But nice looks!
13. Teeth- VERY VERY IMPORTANT cannot handle messed up grills
14. Has a 5 year plan- This is important! Because a man with a plan has his shit together!
15. Good relationship with his family- This also goes along with good relationship with the women in his life
16. Not violent- NO time for psychos! However should be able to defend my honor if the situation ever arises
17. NO kids- I’m not trying to be a step mom. Dizzuh!
18. Not too big on PDA yet does the occasional hand hold or hug in public. But no groping/making out. Uncalled for that is!
19. Understands my friends are important- This is big! He should try and make an attempt to get to know my friends and be a part of that part of my life! Should also respect the need to hangout with the girls!
20. FINALLY Enjoys LAVISHING me with ATTENTION!- This may come in the form of constant texts, emails, im’s or gifts dates Louis Vuitton etc…

* Post script! No boy shall even be considered worthy of getting my number without 15 of the qualities from the list. To be in serious consideration for dating he must have the 15 qualities and actively pursuing ways to obtain the other 5. For immediate dating opportunities he should have 18 of the qualities and be actively pursing ways to obtain the last 2. To be Mr. Right he must have all 20!

Oh the things we do when we're young! I love this.

Cleo's Next Top Blogger 2011 part 3

Hence, after many many shots and many other directions,
the final effect:

Then we had a group shot. For the group shot, I changed to the heels by Nose. It's the coolest heels ever. It's 5 inches high yet it was comfortable to walk! Surprising!

                                                             Fantastic pumps!

The final group shot...

I had a really fun day of three and a half hours of photoshoot!! Now I know, the hardship of being a model of knowing how to pose. It's quite hard you know!! I love all the pictures thanks to Cleo!

Finally, remember to register at http://www.askcleo.com.my to VOTE for me later on =))) Thank you!!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I did and the journey of the story I depicted!! Also, I just want to say how supportive my parents have been(I have the coolest parents on the face on the earth!!) and my friends are the best!! I love all of you!!

Cleo's Next Top Blogger 2011 part 2

Okay, every girl dreams to be a model one day. I think my dream kinda came true eventhough it was only for one day!! *laughs*

The photoshoot was held at Picture This studio at Sunway Damansara, PJ. All I could say was that I kinda lost my way but thank God for GPS and whoever created it was a genius!!!! LOL

I met Ms Loh Yook Hwa who was the lady in charge and we immediately went to choose outfits. She was very kind, soft spoken and nice. I tried on two outfits from F Block which were a white spaghetti fringe dress and a one shoulder toga dress. But we finally decided on the purple Miss Selfridge dress. I love all the dresses there *hearts*

                                                          Dress by Miss Selfridge

Then I went on to hair and make up. My hair was done with big wavy curls using an iron tong. I LOVED the final effect. I've always dreamt of having such curls. It was sooo beautiful. I joked to bring the hairdresser home with me so that she could use her magic on my hair everyday *laughs*

Janoah and Farra getting theirs done

Then I went on to makeup. My make up artist, Joey was very friendly. She did her magic on my eyes and the smoky effect was AWESOME!! I was really a different person after that!

                                                                     BEFORE

                                                                       AFTER

I was the third person to do the shoot. There were 4 other girls which are Janoah, Farra, Anfaal and Tammy. When it came to my turn, I was actually quite nervous because it was my first time!

Okay so here's how the photoshoot went;
I was supposed to stand at one position, put my left hand on my hip and smile naturally. First take- not good. So the photographer said, tilt your head to the left, chin abit higher, left leg one step in front and turn your body to the right abit. I’m like ‘There’s too many directions!!’ The best part was the last advice. On top of all the directions, he told me, ‘Relax and be natural’ I was already stiff with the position given LMAO!!!!!!!!

Overall, I think I did good. I gave my 'best natural looking smile' *laughs*

For the final effect, stay tuned for part 3 =p

Cleo's Next Top Blogger 2011!!

OMG!! I'm so excited. I was chosen to be one of the five finalists of Cleo's Next Top Blogger!! For more details, see HERE

I didn't think I would stand a chance of being a finalist let alone getting a call from Cleo and going for a photoshoot *jumps with joy*

Okay, so here the story goes...
Back in February, I found the ad in Cleo about this contest and decided since I'm already a blogger, why not join. After all, there's no harm to it; just write based on the topic given and submit it.

The submission closed on 4th March. It was actually running for a month. Then on 7th March(Monday) I got a call from Cleo saying that I'm in the 'running' to be one of the five finalists. It was not finalised yet. She asked a few questions and then told me if I was selected I will be receiving an e-mail most probably late that evening or the next morning. If I don't, I was not chosen.

Late that evening, I did not receive any e-mail from Cleo so I thought, okay I guess I was not chosen. Kinda disappointed actually. But the next morning, I finally received the e-mail!! *smiles*

It says: 'Hi there, Congratulations! You’ve been selected as one of the five finalists of the CLEO’s Next Top Blogger contest'  =)))

The photoshoot was the very next day and I was excited. This was my first photoshoot after all =))) I was surprised, overjoyed, nervous, all kinds of feelings in one *laughs*

I really want to thank Cleo for giving me this opportunity! Now that I'm one of the five finalists, we'll be given a topic every month till June and people will have to vote for our writings. The one with the least votes, will be eliminated. I hope I will not be the first one eliminated XD

So, PLEASE VOTE for ME!!! Go to http://www.askcleo.com/ register yourself there and when it's time to vote, I will direct you to the page. To vote, you need to give a thumbs up in the comment. But wait for my cue ya!!! I want to thank all of you in advance *muacks*

Stay tuned for what happened behind the scenes of the photoshoot....

My Favorite Blogs and Websites

So after going almost a month without Twitter and Facebook I've discovered a new found appreciation for all the other sites on the big bad internet that entertain me. I thought it would be fun to compile a list of my favorite blogs and sites since I randomly get asked my friends for similar lists.

Favorite Blogs

The Vogue Diaries-Fashion, Fashion, Fashion! If you have a love for fabulous shoes, handbags, and celebrities then this is the site for you. I also love the added aspect of how the person that runs the blog literally breaks down a celeb's outfit and tells you what they're wearing from head to toe. It's fantastic.

HillsFreak- It's just how it sounds. I'ts a blog dedicated to the peeps from The Hills. I grew up watching Laguna Beach and then The Hills so MTV succeeded in brainwashing me. Don't judge me! If you happen to be a fan of any of the people from those shows you would like this blog!

Barbie Runs- Stumbled upon this blog and through the awesomeness of Twitter I've discovered that this blogger is kind of awesome. Sometimes she says stuff and I'm pretty sure she's inside my head. Anyway, she is constantly introducing me to awesome things. She mentioned a quesadilla maker back around Christmas and that is one of the best things I've ever gotten!!! This weekend she posted a blog about pure barre and it intrigued me and I'll be taking my own class on Saturday. If you enjoy working out and things of that nature this is a great blog.

This, That, & the Other...- An awesome friend of mine, Dominique, runs this blog and it's a nice mix of cool things. She's a runner so I get a TON of my workouts and running inspiration from her but she's also a great photographer and cook. She leads such a healthy lifestyle and it's fun to see the recipes she comes up with. I'm also a big fan of super cute pictures of her daughter that are sometimes sprinkled throughout the blog!

Images I ♥ Stolen from the Internet- If you ever have one of those days at work or on a rainy weekend where you're bored out of your mind and surfing the web this is the site for you! It's a collection of pictures that the site owner has gathered via the internet and then posts. She doesn't post as frequently as other people but her posts are HUGE so it's worth it!

Websites

Cupcakes and Cashmere- I honestly don't know how I found this blog but I like it. It has a pretty simple strict format. She blogs Monday-Friday and each day of the week is dedicated to a specific thing. Tuesdays she usually posts her fave fashion finds with links and prices or makeup finds etc... Friday is her favorite things from the week post and so on. She incorporates food recipes and pictures of her rocking fabulous clothes she finds throughout the blog too. It's an interesting read for anyone that loves fashion and/or cooking.

Dlisted- What can I say about Michael K, the man behind Dlisted, well; he's hilarious! He has just the right amount of snarkiness to make his site amusing but not cross the line like Perez.

I Don't Like You In That Way- OK, this site is completely hilarious but very inappropriate. The guy has a love of big boobs and likes to randomly splash pictures of them throughout the site. He is so NOT politically correct with his commentary on celebrities but it's quite funny. If you're OK with all that then go ahead and visit this site!

Literary Quotes Tumblr- This site is a compilation of quotes from all kinds of literary sources. It's fantastic for anyone that's obsessed with reading and/or quotes. I happen to be obsessed with both so this site provides me with hours of entertainment!

Sea of Shoes-Jane runs this blog and what I personally enjoy most is that she's from Dallas and talks a lot about good vintage stores in the area to shop at. She's a pretty well known blogger and has a bit of an in with the fashion world. Her blog usually features pictures of her in the fabulous outfits she throws together or stories of her trips to other countries all in the name of fashion!

Last but certainly not least...

ONTD- What did I do before Oh No They Didn't?!!! It's hard to imagine but alas I never have to worry about life without it again! It's a livejournal community with people that make posts from every and any gossip site you can imagine! It's all corralled into one site and makes my gossip searching needs so much easier. They have moderators that control the flow of what's posted so multiple people aren't posting about the same thing but for the most part the posts flow freely. They run from serious news and current events to fun celeb gossip so it's a nice well rounded blog.

So there you have it, a few of my favorite sites to go to when I'm surfing the web! Hopefully some of you will find new sites and/or blogs to read as well!

heels!!

I have some obsession with sky high heels lately...

Yves Saint Laurent red sky high pumps!! Oh, mummy!! These are impossible to walk with but it's sooooooo darn beautiful!!

Jimmy Choos!! The bling bling makes the shoe bedazzle and fitting for clubbing only if you can actually dance with it *laughs*

Manolo Blahnik's blue satin shoe. I have a love for satin sky high heels because it's soft and comfortable. It's every girl's dream to own a Manolo Blahnik =))))

Christian Louboutin shoe...Does the Jennifer Lopez's song, 'Louboutin' comes to mind? Hehe Soo pretty..I especially love the 'metal-looking' stilletto!!

Yes, I know sky high heels are really really HARD to walk in....BUT...they're soo pretty *laughs* I just cannot resist =p

SXSW Part Deux

So now it's about that time to reflect back on some of my biggest issues with SXSW. I actually didn't have that many problems with SXSW it was just the couple of things that bugged me; SERIOUSLY bugged me. Let us begin with the thing that annoyed me more than anything else, The Kanye West Fiasco!

I love Kanye West, I really do, and I think it's awesome that he goes to SXSW and does free shows. This year was nothing new, I'm sure everyone remembers back in 08 when he showed up at The Fader and did a performance. It was awesome. His Fader performance is one of those amazing moments from SXSW where everything comes together to create an awesome experience for music fans. This year the experience was not so organic, in fact, it was completely ridiculous.

VEVO decided to make their presence known at SXSW this year by throwing a free concert with Kanye West. This in and of itself is not a problem but the way they went about it was. There were rumors Kanye would be there for a good month before the festival even began with a confirmation coming the week before the music part of SXSW began. Vevo decided the best way to go about this would be to have people text message a number to RSVP to the show. That was their first problem. Everyone and their mom RSVP'd to the show and obviously that created chaos. Normal shows have an online RSVP where they explain it doesn't guarantee entry but that they can better control. You can take the RSVP down when you have more than enough people on the list already. This is how a smart company does a SXSW RSVP. Anyway, after the initial text Vevo sent out another one (on Friday I believe) saying you had to respond to get GUARANTEED line entry. That sentence alone is ridiculous. Guaranteed line entry? Yippee I get to stand in the line! Look at me ma, I made it!

Here's a little tip about Austin during SXSW, cell phone reception is hit or miss. When you have a bunch of cell phone addicted people in a relatively tiny area you run the risk of overworking the towers. This means that a lot of people get calls and texts well after they're sent. Perhaps this is why SMART people don't have cell phone RSVPs during SXSW (yeah I'm gonna harp on that a lot). So my friend gets the text saying you must respond with the code word "Kanye" to get guaranteed line entrance a full minute before I got it. She replied in about 15 seconds and guess what? She was too late to get on the list! This is pretty much what happened to everyone and it kind of pissed people off. I'm sure this got back to Vevo so to save face they decided they would, wait for it...have ANOTHER text RSVP later that night. Yeah people, obviously the people organizing that event are super smart! (I wish you could see the face I made as I typed that.)

So Vevo spreads the word that a whopping 100 more RSVPs will be given out and that the first 1000 badge holders will get in. That is nothing people, NOTHING, and the fact that they felt the need to spread the word about that is laughable. NO really, laughable. I am quite sure I actually laughed when someone told me. So obviously that situation was going to turn into a clusterf*ck and that is why I voted no on going. Luckily, I have friends that went and were able to give me some fun details about the party.

1. All that text message RSVPing meant NOTHING! Anyone could get in line it was first come first serve.
2. People were lining up before 6 for a midnight show.
3. The show didn't even start at midnight
4. At 2 Kanye had STILL not performed.
5. Kanye went on around 4ish.
6. Complete and utter chaos.

Was it worth it? Yes, it's Kanye and yes Jay-Z and a couple other people were there so a lot of people would say yeah it was but I don't really agree. Think about this, 3 years before people were just chillin in The Fader, drinking free drinks, not waiting in line for hours, and guess who pops up on stage; Kanye. THAT is what makes a big name performance at SXSW awesome. The element of surprise that someone you never expected would show up. Not some over-hyped, poorly managed, spectacle of who can PAY the most for an artist to show up. That whole thing just left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Issue number 2, the Perez Hilton party. This is the party I actually went to Saturday night and while it was a good time I had some issues. Let's just go ahead and list them.

1. You have a venue that holds 2500 people and you give out 10000 wrist bands.
2. No free booze (I know it sounds like I'm being ungrateful but you'll understand later)
3. No surprise guest/the way the party ended
4. Perez Hilton's attitude.

Let's just go ahead and hit all these points. Perez, like most people had an online RSVP and then you had to go pick up your wrist band to get in. Now wouldn't you think that the RSVP would close at like 3000-3500. I mean you have to count that not all people who RSVP will go but having a venue that only holds 2500 and letting 10000 wrist bands out is STUPID. That's right, it's not ridiculous; it's simply stupid. It's one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time actually. I mean, who does that!?!??!??! So after grabbing our wrist bands earlier in the day my crew and I got in line around 5 for the party at 6. We didn't actually get in until around 8 but the people I was with made that wait quite fun. I did have a big problem with the fact that once we finally made it to the front we had to wait another half hour to get in. Why you ask? Well they claimed they were at capacity but they MOST DEFINITELY were not. I hate when people do that.

Once we got in the first thing I noticed was no free booze. I'm sorry but that's just really unacceptable. One of the sponsors of the party was a vodka company, I mean COME ON! Almost every party at SXSW has free food or free booze or both! The past two years Perez's party has had free alcohol and it just seemed like this party was just thrown together last minute and that pissed me off.

I heard rumblings that Perez was trying to make the party badge only and I think he got a lot of heat from people about that and ended up changing it last minute. Perhaps this is why he was in such a bad mood the whole time. He didn't mingle or anything he simple came on stage before each performance, introduced the person, and then went backstage again. It was odd. Don't get me wrong the party was fun and most of the performers were cool and I discovered an awesome band (Kids of 88!!!) but the vibe was off. This wasn't helped by the fact that EVERYONE thought there would be a big name performer. I mean with Diddy at the Fader and Snoop up the road I think people just thought he could get someone. The first year he had Kanye and Gaga and last year he had Katy Perry so it just would have been cool to have a fun surprise guest. It was like our party was the red headed step child of SXSW!

IF he had no intentions of having a big name performance he should have structured the show differently. It was the most abrupt stop to a party I've ever experienced. The bands went off stage a DJ came on and spun some less than stellar tunes and then bam the lights came on. I think people actually booed. I think my main issue was you expect a Perez Hilton party to be on a certain level and this was kind of just a thrown together party of nonsense. If he couldn't get it together he honestly shouldn't have had any party at all.

Aside from the two party debacles I guess I just didn't love the feeling of SXSW this year. You know that feeling you get when you find a really awesome band/rapper/artist and then a couple months/years later MTV discovers them and ruins them? THAT is exactly how I felt at SXSW this year! Most of the people I was with have been before and the common theme among all of us was "what is going on?" Too many big named brands were advertising and kind of having a pissing contest with each other to figure out who could get the biggest artist there or who could have the most people and it just ruined the spirit of the festival.

Here's the thing, I have memories of going to SXSW and seeing Kid Cudi walking down 6th. A friend of mine randomly got to interview Asher Roth on 6th two years ago. I met Nat from 3OH!3 and Shwayze outside their shows a couple years ago too. I'm not against bigger artists coming but I'm against them coming when they don't really take full advantage of some of the cool aspects of SXSW. A lot of the people they got this year *cough cough* Kanye, Diddy, Jay-Z and crew were rolling around town in blacked out SUVs and not having any interaction with fans. They simply went to do their obligatory performance, pick up their chick, then leave town. That's not what you do at SXSW!! You meet your fans, you walk around Austin and experience all the randomness the city has to offer, you do free spontaneous shows for people that truly love music, in short; you experience SXSW!!! That is not what the celebs did this year and it bugged me. I also think that all the hype around Kanye made the crowd different.

It seemed to me there were more people there to party than there were to listen to music. I love a good party but I can party in Dallas the biggest reason I go to SXSW is shows. Well, if I'm being completely honest shows and boys (don't judge me! :D ) but still music is a big part of why I go and that's the point! Too many people were there just to be seen or just to see Kanye West. The more I type this the more I realize where the good people of Austin were coming from when they said Don't Dallas My Austin! I guess I kind of feel that way about SXSW, simply put don't Coachella my SXSW.

SXSW for me is about music, the weirdness only Austin has to offer, boys, good food, cool people, and fun times. It has that nice southern charm that only Texas has to offer. Big brands trying to make money, celebrities making paid appearances, pissing contests between brands to see who throws a better party, and the kids walking around like they're the coolest thing since sliced bread (because they are rocking a new pair of Ray Bans) belong at Coachella! Perhaps I'm just being too harsh though. Maybe it's a good thing that SXSW is growing and big news and gossip blogs are following the happenings of the festival and all that jazz but I vote no. I'm an only child that never learned to share and a born and raised Texan so I guess what I'm saying is back off my SXSW! Hey, I may be a little crazy but you know you love it. :)

* OH and since I promised, the infamous, Stripper video! Haha. I don't even know if this does it justice! It's sideways, we had to do stealth videography.

Twitter

Yes, I'm on Twitter *laughs* I have actually been on twitter for the past year but since I didn't really know how to use it, I abandoned it and found Facebook to be the better social network.

But, alas, I'm active on twitter again. Coz I've been seeing so many people using it and celebrities are using it as a platform to update their life for fans to see...

So, I decided to revisit twitter(luckily I still remember my username and password) and decided to follow many celebrities. So to date, I'm following around 50 celebrities like Britney Spears, Ryan Seacrest (coz he has the best goss in town), Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and many others!! Yes, I'm that much into celebrities *laughs*

Since I do not have the time to buy those tabloids mags and read, I might as well follow them on twitter. It's really fun you know knowing they are the one updating the twits and in some way fans get to be closer to their favourite celebs!!

But, downside is that I have never been so technologically handicapped when it comes to using twitter itself. I know how to update my stats but I don't know how to tag someone or what is the function of retweet and so many other buttons LOL Okay, don't laugh but even in FB I can be really handicapped at times(thanks to my bestie who has to show me a lot of how-tos) *slaps head*

And I don't know, for whatever reasons I have 'followers'. *laughs* I just started and I don't know much about twitter, how was I found to be followed? Haha I guess I will have to update much now, huh lol

But really I'm only active on twitter coz I wanted to follow the lives of my fav celebs. Until I know how to use more functions, will I use it to the fullest..

Till then, let me meddle with twitter hehe...
Btw, do you twit??

                                                          Such a cute logo =p

Earth Hour 2011

Today, 26th March 2011 at 8.30pm-9.30pm is Earth Hour.
It all began in the year 2004 when World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Australia began to look into methods to address the problem of climate change. An idea was born in 2005 and WWF Australia together with Leo Burnett started working on an idea of a large scale switch off.

The biggest Earth Hour event was held in 2010, seeing a total of 128 participating countries compared to the previous year.

To me, honestly, this Earth Hour will not save any energy and if anything will generate more energy to promote this event.
However, it is not an event to save energy, rather it's an event to raise awareness of climatic change and to encourage people to switch off your lights when not in use, put your laptop on standby when not using and off the TV when not watching.

Therefore, I would be joining millions of people around the world to switch off my lights for one hour and I would start preserving energy when not in use. How about you??
