An Ode to East Coast boys

So a while ago a Twitter follower of mine posted a tweet about style and east coast boys. Her tweet was along the lines of east coast boys have the best style. This started a bit of a debate about which men/coast have the best style. I do love the laid back vibe of west coast boys but really, nothing compares to east coast style. So today's post is an ode to some of my favorite east coast men. Not all of them are New Yorkers but all of them are from the east coast.

Scott Disick

Reasons He Made the Cut-Well he's fantastic. I don't really think you should need any further proof than what you see above. The man just has classic style. He can rock a suit like nobody's business. As if all of this wasn't enough, when Kanye West met him for the first time he looked at him and said "Wowwww, he dresses amazing." A fashion compliment from Kanye, yeah, you're fabulous.

Kanye West

Reasons He Made the Cut-Kanye West has more style than most women I know. The man can throw together a look like no other. He also has design experience which I love. He gets bonus points having his outfit always compliment the outfit his lady. I think that takes a special kind of talent. He's also usually a staple at all the fashion week shows and I can respect that. He seems to simply enjoy fashion as an art form and I think that's awesome.

Kid Cudi

Reasons He Made the Cut-For those of you that aren't obsessed with dudes in suits I present, Kid Cudi. Quintessential jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts kind of guy. Laid back, relaxed style that anyone can rock and yet it's still, very East coast. They have their own unique way of throwing together a couple expensive pieces with relatively cheap (or what appears to be cheap) t-shirts etc... I think a lot of west coast dudes try and emulate this look and don't really always get it right.

Mark Wahlberg

Reasons He Made the Cut- Mark has got the whole t shirt and jeans look down but in the grown man version. I know everyone doesn't support the 3 piece suit and tie thing every day and here's an example of someone who pulls off casual so well. He rocks cardigans, t-shirts, jeans etc... but he always looks put together and stylish. You don't always have to be dressed up to look great but I do enjoy it!

Lapo Elkann

Reasons He Made the Cut-Well let us begin with the big guns. Vogue once said he was "possibly the best dressed man on the planet" and readers were upset because of the word "possibly". So yeah, he's got style. When Vogue is saying you may have the best style on an entire planet you're kind of a winner. He is Italian but is also a born and bred New Yorker too. We don't see ANY west coast dudes getting this kind of love from Vogue now do we?! Must admit, I'm not a huge fan of his long hair but he's killing me, in a good way, with these outfits!

Penn Badgley

Reasons He Made the Cut- IMO Mr. Badgley does a great job of incorporating the best of both worlds. He can rock a mean suit when he needs to but can also throw on jeans and a t-shirt or a casual button down and khaki shorts. I like that. Another thing he gets points for is how often he looks nice in shorts. I'm not a huge fan of shorts on dudes but some how when he does wear them it works.

CHUCK FREAKING BASS!!!

Reasons He Made the Cut- Yes, I know he's a fictional character but he IS NYC style! I'm pretty sure the stylists on that show took the best style from fabulous NY men and created Chuck Bass' wardrobe. It is perfect. It is everything I'm talking about when I say boys on the East coast know how to dress. I don't think in all four seasons of gossip girl I've ever seen him in jeans. It's always khakis or a suit. You can argue he's a fictional character but this is how men of a certain status in New York dress. I could post picture after picture of men in the city that dress this way so I think it's acceptable to put him in the post. This is how I wish all men would dress. I really do.

So there you have it! My exhibits A-G to prove once and for all that east coast boys are where it's at! Haha. Although, I'll always have a soft spot for a southern gent!
