It's Fat Tuesday Baby!

Being Creole and enjoying all things Cajun Fat Tuesday is always a good time! I've never been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and to be honest I don't think I want to go because I'm not a fan of MADNESS but I'm planning to celebrate in Dallas! Thanks to a lovely little place called Razzoos I'm planning to get my fill of fried gator, fried catfish, shrimp, Cajun seasoned fries, and plenty of hurricanes! I hope everyone else plans to celebrate Fat Tuesday in a grand style and for those of you giving up something for Lent hopefully you get all your demons out tonight!

Anyway, here are a few things helping me get through the day as I impatiently wait for fun times tonight!

The weather

It's glorious outside! 77 degrees and sunny, I think this is what people in other states call Spring weather. Here in TX this rarely happens so I'm definitely enjoying it.

Bake sales!

The Culinary Arts kids had a lovely Mardi Gras themed bake sale. I have been devouring cupcakes all morning. I've decided this is OK since it's Fat Tuesday!

FRIED GATOR!

I could eat it all day! ALL DAY I SAY! I hardly ever have it but I'm obsessed. Razzoos has some of the best I've ever had and I'm going to enjoy it tonight. Here's a surprising fact, there is very little, if any, fried gator in New Orleans! When I was there for a 3 day weekend this past Halloween I couldn't find any. Apparently you gotta go to the swamps!

Last but not least, FADER RSVP!!!

The Fader RSVP went LIVE TODAY! Not sure if it's still open but I stalk their life on the boardwalk, via Twitter, so I got myself RSVP'd and my whole crew. Fun times shall be had at SXSW next week!

Hope you all found/find a way to celebrate Fat Tuesday today! The goal is to sin as much as possible tonight then repent tomorrow! Ha, gotta love traditions! Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!!
