I found a great training schedule that's 8 weeks and made to train for a 10k and has me in the gym 6 days a week. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get into working out everyday but so far I kind of like it. I don't have to run everyday and the weeks/workouts kind of build on each other. I do strength/cross training 3 days and run 3 days with a day of rest on Fridays. It's actually pretty great the way it's set up.
I'm still not sure if I want to run the 10k or the 5k though. I think at the end of this I could run the 5k the whole time and probably have a pretty good time. I think if I go for the 10k I will end up needing to walk a little bit of the way but perhaps I'm underestimating myself. Anyway I'm looking forward to the race at the end of Feb and seeing what happens when I really push myself. I think I may even turn into a runner! The thought of that really excites me.
